As the Creative Content Manager for S.I.R., Mia harbors an array of knowledge and experience in the digital marketing space and the world of film and video. Mia is a multi-disciplinary tactician and supports S.I.R. for multimedia projects, written content development, secondary research, and social media advertising.
While receiving her Bachelor of Science in Communications Public Relations from Virginia Commonwealth University, Mia exercised her skills and studies while working as the social media marketing manager for a number of organizations. Prior to her role at S.I.R., Mia worked full-time as a manager at the beloved local Richmond shop, World of Mirth, before joining World Art Group, a global art publishing company, as a Project Manager for B2B sales.
At a young age, Mia found her passion for film, cinema, and a drive to produce projects that strike emotional chords with the audience. She spends much of her free time reading and writing scripts, along with lots of research (many, many movie nights). Her experiences have led her to S.I.R., and have ignited a spark to bring her expertise to the Creative Department.
Working at S.I.R. will continue to serve as an environment to harness her creativity and strengthen her role in all systems across the organization and the work she does for clients every day.
Life in Stories:
In her book of essays, The White Album, Joan Didion writes,
'We tell ourselves stories in order to live.'
When I first read that during my freshman year of college, it really stuck out to me. I’ve always seen life as a series of stories, and I’m constantly drawn to telling them. Storytelling helps me make sense of things—both in my own life and in the world around me. It comes in many forms, but at its core, it’s how I express my most authentic self.
